Data from the 1970 British Cohort Study (BCS70) Age 51 Sweep are now available to download from the UK Data Service.
Help shape the next sweeps of NCDS and BCS70. This in-person session is open to all, and gives delegates the opportunity to inform what we ask 1958 and 1970 cohort members in the next round of data collection.
In June 2023 we celebrated 21 years of the Millennium Cohort Study (MCS) and other longitudinal studies with a scientific conference in London. The programme featured an exciting line up of around 75 inter-disciplinary presentations and a very special panel discussion with members of the cohort.
In honour of the 50th anniversary of the 1970 British Cohort Study, this scientific conference will showcase the latest cutting-edge research using CLS cohort data.
This event was designed to facilitate collaboration between technologists and scientists, from the academic and commercial sectors.

The National Child Development Study (NCDS) turned 60 years old in March 2018. We organised a special scientific conference to celebrate this anniversary.
CLOSER’S 2017 conference on inequalities was an opportunity to share ideas and innovations with longitudinal researchers from across disciplines and sectors, both from the UK and abroad.
Delegates from the scientific community, government departments, members of the third sector and other stakeholders were invited to give their ideas and discuss scientific priorities for the data collection instruments for the Age 60 Survey of the National Child Development Study (NCDS).
An open consultative conference was held at the UCL Institute Of Education. It was open to all interested parties, including representatives of the MCS funders.
