The first two-day workshop on using the cohort studies to teach quantitative methods to students was successfully run at City University, London, on 21 and 22 June. There were twelve participants from a wide range of different disciplinary backgrounds, all with an interest in using resources from the cohort studies to enliven their teaching of research design, data analysis and statistics.

Two further workshops are planned for 18 and 19 September at City University in London and 12 and 13 December at The University of Edinburgh. The workshops are part of the ESRC-funded Researcher Development Initiative (RDI), and are co-ordinated by Jane Elliott, Samantha Parsons and Ian Plewis.
