CLS staff to present papers and a data discovery workshop at the SLLS conference in Bielefeld, Germany 26-30 September 2011.
Life Course and Social Change: Interdisciplinary and International Perspectives – the second conference of the Society for Longitudinal and Life Course Studies (SLLS) will take place in Bielefeld, Germany.
The conference (26-28 September), including contributions by CLS staff, comprises keynote lectures and parallel group and poster sessions. The topics the conference will address extend across the whole range of longitudinal and life course studies and include, eg: life course stages from infancy to old age (including physical, psychological, social developmental and ageing processes and functioning); household, and income dynamics; intergenerational transfers and returns to learning; gene-environment interaction; ‘mixed’, and comparative methods; innovative methodology in design, measurement, analysis and research practice (quantitative and qualitative); longitudinal research and policy.
As part of the conference (29/30 September) there will be a number of practical ‘data discovery workshops’ focusing on key longitudinal data resources, including the UK Cohort Studies.
