Longview, NatCen and the University of Oxford are holding an international conference entitled ‘Parents Matter’ on March 26 and 27, 2009.
Longview, NatCen, University of Oxford and the conference sponsors would like to invite you to attend:
The theme of this conference is the role of parents in life course changes. To what extent is ineffective parenting a factor in locking young children into low educational achievement and its often negative social and economic consequences? Does effective parenting brought about by intervention programmes really make a difference? Can intervention with parents still be effective in adolescence? What form should such intervention take?
This conference is aimed at practitioners and policy makers working in children’s services and with families. Researchers and academics in the field will also find the coverage of much relevance to their work.
