Our new website is here

Welcome to our new website, home to all the latest news, information and findings from our 1958, 1970, Next Steps, and Millennium cohort studies.

We hope that the simpler, clearer navigation and searchable databases will help you find the information you need more easily – whether you’re a seasoned CLS data user, a researcher who’s considering using our studies for the first time, or a policy specialist interested in what our research has found.

Here are a few tips to help you find your way around the new site.

Find information on different sweeps

Each study page includes a sweep timeline tool that allows you to quickly hop from one sweep to another. On each sweep page, we give an overview of what was collected in that sweep; more detailed information about some of the specific and unique features of the sweep; and all the relevant documentation.

Find information on data access and training

We’ve also created a dedicated data access and training area. This is a one-stop-shop for researchers who are just getting started on using our data in their work. It’s also a place for more experienced CLS data users to find out about training we’re offering on new data releases as well as arrangements for accessing certain specialised data.

See the latest CLS research

In addition to running our four cohort studies and sharing the data with the research community, we also conduct a huge amount of important research in-house, using our data. Thanks to a new research portal, visitors to our website can now explore our research projects and findings more easily. We expect this will be a useful resource for those working within policy.
