CLS Research Officer Jenny Neuburger has been awarded a prize for best paper submitted by a young economist at the Work Pensions and Labour Economics Conference.

Jenny Neuburger, a CLS Research Officer, was awarded a prize for best paper submitted by a young economist at the Work Pensions and Labour Economics Conference. The conference was hosted by the University of Sheffield on 14-16 July, and funded by the Department of Work and Pensions.

The paper looks at trends in the relative pay of women and men across three British Birth Cohorts born in 1946, 1958 and 1970, respectively. It examines the impact of changes in women’s rates of paid employment over time on estimates of their average pay, relative to men’s.

The paper is available to download from the conference website: http://wpeg.group.shef.ac.uk/papers2008/29Neuberger.pdf
