To celebrate 50 years of the 1970 British Cohort Study over the next 12 months we’ll be highlighting interesting features of the survey design, delving deeper into the questionnaires and pulling out descriptive statistics from the data.

Almost 5,000 children and mothers took part in the 22 months and 42 months sweeps, which explored the impact of foetal nutrition on early development. With medical exams and questions, and cognitive tests, mothers also answered questions on family circumstances.
