Accessing data from the UK Data Service

Most of our data is available from the UK Data Service with a standard End User licence, which means your application is authorised directly by the UK Data Service, and you can download the data directly from there.

The following links will take you to the relevant area of the UK Data Service for each of our four studies:

Access to some data held by the UK Data Service is more restricted:

  • Some data is available on Special Licence, which means you apply for it through the UK Data Service and it needs to be approved by the CLS Data Access Committee before it can be downloaded.
  • Access to the most sensitive and/or potentially disclosive data is provided via Secure Access which is also administered by the UK Data Service. To access this data you must attend special training provided by UK Data Service, and you can only access data via a secure desktop, or a Safe Room.

Genetic data and biological samples are not available from the UK Data Service. Find out more about access arrangements for these, and other types of data not available from the UK Data Service.
